Happy New Year!

Just a quick update to close 2009. No real problems to report with my 50 gallon. Alot of the equipment really needed an update, sooooooooooooo.......... NEW TANK! I decided that my beloved freshwater community tank needed a desperate update, with the rim falling off, the stand being scratched away by my cat, the heater completely broken, and the silicone peeling off. I went down to my local fish store (who were having their annual boxing week sale) and picked myself up a 65 gallon aquarium (36Wx18Lx22H), a really nice stingray stand, an Eheim Classic canister filter, a heater (if it gives off heat, does it really matter which type you get?), 75lbs of river gravel, and the store was generous enough to throw in a glass canopy and a deluxe flourescent fixture. Im getting my basement renovated so its not going to be set up just set, but ill be sure to post some pics as soon as it is up and running. Been a while...

It has been a LONG time since ive posted on my blog. Probably about a year or so...? Anyways, its good to be back. As for my aquariums, well, my freshwater 50 gallon is doing well, I set up a 5 gallon dwarf gourami tank and they are doing well, however, my nano reef is a bit shaky. Everything died... except the corals. Damn turbo snail got stuck in the intake and died, fouled up the whole tank. That was a year ago. Now, im upgrading :) Likely to a 30 gallon+, and it will be around christmas time, when everything around here goes on sale. Ill have some pictures up when it gets running, so hold tight and wait it out!
